WINEMAKING / TASTING NOTES
Fun Wine Blend, but we had to be careful not to steer the wine towards a “house pallet.” We found that blending St. Croix with Cabernet Franc and Frontenac made for a racy, brilliant, tightly wound dry red, and immediately we liked it, but the thought crossed our minds, “needs more fruit” to which that thought became, “so to make it more like Painted Red?” Um, yeah, I mean no! We loved the blend and its zippy-ness and tightly wound fruit would certainly make for an interesting red wine, more in the lines of those classic Bordeaux reds which are known to not be very fruit forward until they are left open to breathe. Add in some Syrah and Souzao and bingo. Wow is it dark red too! Whew. The color is off the charts.
